Childhood memories,

Anxiety and depression,
took hold of me.
Living the life
of a wild child,
darkened my world.
For drunken blackouts
soon followed.
Years of lies I believed.
Denial was
my only friend.

realized,
that friend
was destroying me.
So, sobered up
to reality.
Starting taking
meds to
calm my mind.
My thoughts.
For then I met,
not just people,
but, heroes.
For they brought

and want that person
to be near.
Their voice is muted
so you cannot hear.
The distance between
you and that person
is hard to endure.
You wish,
that somehow,
you could get
that person to hear
you whisper in their ear.

very cold and scattered about,
The tears dry up
just like the rain.
But, for only one
difference remains.
When the rain dries up,
it leaves no trace,

I cannot hear your reply.
Where are you?
Are you hiding
up there in the sky?
I got down on my knees
and I prayed and cried.
God, If this is going
to be an unanswered prayer,
Please, tell me why.
But, If you decide not to explain,
well, that it is alright.
I just know now
not to ask why.
